Youth Organisation Project: Lion Joy Dreyer
Sistahood Girls Club was founded in 2010 by Nandipha Breakfast as a way to give back to the young women in her community.
The aim of the club is to provide educational, social and compassionate assistance to young girls growing up in Hout Bay.
The organisation is currently run by four young women, Nandipha Breakfast, Nolubabalo Matiwane, Phiweka Buka and Thuliswa Nobenxe, who each bring their own skills and strengths to the organisation.
Sistahood’s membership currently stands at 23 junior girls aged between 12 and 18 and 6 senior girls aged 18 and over
After school meetings are held with the girls three times a week and include provision of homework support, sports, drama and singing with occasional outings on weekends and recently a camp held at Froggy Pond Simonstown.
